Edward Nye Fish House is located at 120 N. Main Ave. just to the west of the Tucson Museum of Art. This adobe home was built in 1868 on the site of the old barracks and was one of the grandest homes in Tucson at the time with fifteen foot high beam ceilings with saguaro ribs. Imported from Europe the furniture was mahagany and marbletopped.
Fish was a merchant, entrepreneur and a politician. His wife, Maria was the first school teacher and the first anglo woman to be married in Tucson.
