AZTEC HOUSE

The Aztec House was built in 1881 as a "Hostelry" for some of the local "gentlemen" by  the Arizona Trading Company.  The Arizona Trading Company also gave the property for St. Paul´s Episcopal Church to be built upon.

The Aztec House served as a boarding house up until 1967.  Let your imagination carry you away as to who may have hung their hat on these walls. Today it is a gift shop selling antiques, Indian artifacts and other Wild West themed items.

From the Aztec House, C.H. Light, the Aztec House manger, was a witness to the shootout between the Earps and the cowboys.

The Aztec House seems to be another place in Tombstone´s history to claim that it is haunted.  The Southwest Ghost Hunters Association visited this house to look for unearthly beings.
