It is hot in the Sonoran Desert, pets MUST HAVE SHADE for the entire day. Please keep in mind that what is shady in the morning may not be shady in the afternoon. 2. Pets MUST HAVE COOL AND CLEAN WATER at all times. Keep water in a container that will not tip over. You can place water in shade, use an automatic watering bowl or place bowl in shallow cooler. 3. TIEOUTS ARE DANGEROUS. The tieout can get tangled and prevent your pet from reaching shade or cool water. TIEOUTS ARE ILLEGAL IN THE CITY OF TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY. 4. DON'T LEAVE YOUR PET IN A HOT CAR! Interior vehicle temperatures can reach over 160 degrees. Opening the window will not provide enough ventilation to cool your pet.
